KSH: retail sales increased by six percent last year
Retail sales grew by six percent in 2019, according to both raw and calendar-effect adjusted data, after the 6.7 percent of the previous year – the Central Statistical Office announced on Wednesday.
According to raw data, retail sales in December last year were 6.7 percent higher than a year before, calendar effect adjusted.
Over the past year, food and grocery retail sales have grown by 3.4 percent. Within this, calendar-effect adjusted sales were 3.8 percent higher in grocery stores and 2.4 percent higher in food, beverage and tobacco stores than in the previous year. (MTI)
