KSH: employment grew in February and April
During the February-April period, the average number of employees was 4 million 445 thousand, 67 thousand more than a year before. The employment rate of the 15-64 year olds grew by 1.5 percentage points to 68.8 percent – the Central Statistical Office (KSH) announced on Tuesday.
The increase in the number of employed persons was fueled by the 32,000 decline in the number of unemployed and the 35,000 increase in the number of active people on the labor market. The proportion of the active population increased by 1.0 percentage points to 71.6 percent in the 15-64 age group, while the number of people in the age group fell by 52 thousand ie 0.8 percent.
