KSH: in December, the gross average salary was 789,200 forints, which was 8.5 percent higher than a year earlier
In December 2025, the gross average earnings of full-time employees were 789,200 forints, and the net average earnings were 548,900 forints, the Central Statistical Office (KSH) reported on Friday.
The gross average earnings were 8.5 percent, the net average earnings were 9.8 percent, and the real earnings were 6.3 percent higher than a year earlier.
The increase in the net average earnings was due to the higher family allowance introduced as of July 1, 2025, and the three-child allowance introduced as of October 1, 2025. exceeded the increase in the average gross salary due to the mothers’ benefit – the report noted.
The median gross salary reached 607,700 forints, and the median net salary reached 427,500 forints, showing 9.4 and 10.8 percent higher values than the same period of the previous year, respectively.
In December, the regular (without premium, reward, monthly special allowance) average gross salary was 683,400 forints, which is 9.4 percent more than in the same period of the previous year. The regular gross average earnings in enterprises amounted to 680,900 forints, in the budget 672,800, and in the nonprofit sector 734,000, increasing by 9.7, 9.2, and 6.9 percent, respectively, in a year, the Central Statistical Office announced.
Real earnings increased by 6.3 percent in December, with consumer prices increasing by 3.3 percent compared to the same period of the previous year.
In January-December 2025, the gross average earnings of full-time employees were 705,000 forints, and the net average earnings were 486,800 forints. The average gross salary exceeded the previous year’s figure by 9.0 percent, while the average net salary exceeded the previous year’s figure by 9.4 percent.
