KSH: consumer prices increased by 2.7 percent in December and by 3.3 percent on average in 2020
In December last year, consumer prices were on average 2.7 percent higher than a year before and 0.3 percent higher than the previous month; In 2020, prices increased by an average of 3.3 percent, compared to the previous year – the Central Statistical Office (KSH) said on Thursday.
Filtered by seasonally fluctuating prices and energy prices, core inflation rose again from 3.9 percent in November to 4.0 percent by the end of the year, the upper limit of the central bank’s inflation target range. Analysts expected inflation of 2.7-2.8 percent in December. (MTI)
