Delivery performance declined in the first quarter
Freight transport performance decreased 3.8 percent in the first quarter of this year compared to the same period last year, mainly due to the decline in pipeline freight transport. The pandemic affected passenger traffic to a greater extent, with the most significant 96 percent decline in aviation, the Central Statistical Office (KSH) announced in its latest analysis.
According to a study available on the website of the KSH, the performance of freight transport was 13.5 billion tonne-kilometers in the first quarter of this year, which is 3.8 percent less than in the same period last year. The performance of the highest weight road freight transport (8.9 billion freight tonne-kilometers) increased by 1.5 percent, while that of rail freight transport decreased by 8.1 percent. (MTI)
