KSH: industrial production expanded by 1.3 percent both compared to the same period of the previous year and compared to the previous month
In September 2025, the volume of industrial production exceeded the average by 1.3 percent, while adjusted for working day effects, it fell by 1.5 percent compared to a year earlier, the Central Statistical Office (KSH) reported on Thursday, based on its first estimate.
Based on seasonally and working day adjusted data, industrial output was 1.3 percent higher than a year earlier than in August 2025.
The volume of production in most of the manufacturing sub-sectors decreased compared to the same month of the previous year. Among the most important sub-sectors, the production of computers, electronics, optical products, and the production of food, beverages and tobacco products expanded, while there was a decline in vehicle manufacturing and the production of electrical equipment.
In the first nine months of the year, industrial production was 3.4 percent lower than in the same period of 2024.
The detailed September data on industrial production will be published by the Central Statistical Office on November 13, based on its second estimate.
