KSH: the production of the food industry increased by 1.4 percent in September
In September, the volume of industrial production exceeded a year earlier by 11.3 percent, and increased by 11.6 percent when adjusted for the working day effect. The seasonally and working day-adjusted industrial output was 1.6 percent higher than in August – the Central Statistics Office (KSH) confirmed on Monday based on its second estimate.
The volume of production increased in the vast majority of the manufacturing sub-sectors, with the largest increase in the production of electrical equipment, where the KSH measured a 47.4 percent increase.
Compared to September 2021, the production of the manufacturing industry, which represents a decisive weight within the industry, increased by 11.5 percent, that of the energy industry by 7.4 percent, and that of the minor mining industry by 1.0 percent.
Vehicle production, which has the largest weight and represents 25 percent of manufacturing production, exceeded the previous year by 31.6 percent. The production of road vehicles increased by 36 percent, and the production of road vehicle components by 29 percent. The production of computer, electronic and optical products, which accounted for 11 percent of manufacturing production, increased by 21.5 percent compared to the same month of the previous year.
The production of the food industry, which benefits from the processing industry by 12 percent, increased by 1.4 percent, primarily due to the increase in foreign market sales, while domestic sales decreased.
