KSH: the growth in industrial production is led by the food industry and the manufacturing industry
Industrial production grew by 4.8 percent in July compared with a year earlier. The main driving forces were working day affect, food industry and the manufacturing industry – the Central Statistical Office (KSH) announced. The working-day-adjusted annual growth also accelerated to 2.5 percent, from the 1.7 percent of the previous month.
Exports – after the previous two monthly decline – rose by 7.2 percent, while domestic sales – after five months of decline – increased by 0.9 percent.
Compared to June, the volume of industrial output increased by 0.3 percent, while domestic sales increased by 0.7, export sales increased by 0.4 percent – according to the seasonally and working day adjusted datas.
Food, beverages and tobacco manufacturing output production exceeded 4.9 percent over the previous year. The main driving force was the fruit and vegetable processing and preserving sector with a 24.5 percent increase. (MTI)
