KSH: The sales prices of the food industry rose by 0.9 percent
In September, industrial producer prices were on average 0.9 percent higher than a year earlier, the Central Statistical Office (KSH) announced on Thursday.
Domestic sales prices decreased by 0.7 percent, export sales increased by 1.7 percent.
Compared to the previous month, domestic sales prices fell by 0.2 percent, export sales prices by 0.6 percent, so industrial producer prices were 0.4 percent lower overall.
Domestic sales prices were 0.4 percent lower in the processing industry, which represented 60.0 percent, and 2.2 percent lower in the energy industry (electricity, gas, steam supply, air conditioning), which accounted for 38.6 percent, compared to last September. Sales prices in the food industry rose by 0.9 percent.
Among the intended groups of sectors, domestically, the energy and further consumption sectors fell by a combined 2.3 percent, while prices rose by 4.0 percent and 1.9 percent in those producing capital goods and 1.9 percent in those producing consumer goods.
Industrial export sales prices were 1.7 percent higher, within which they increased by 1.5 percent in the manufacturing industry, which represented 82.9 percent of the market, and decreased by 1.2 percent in the energy industry, which accounted for 16.7 percent.
