KSH: the production of food, beverages and tobacco products was 13.6 percent lower than a year earlier
In February of this year, the volume of industrial production was 4.6 percent lower than a year earlier; the index cleaned of the working day effect is the same as the unadjusted one – the Central Statistical Office (KSH) announced on Thursday based on its second estimate.
A decrease was measured in most of the manufacturing industry sub-sectors, but at the same time, the volume of production increased in the heaviest vehicle production. Based on seasonally and working day-adjusted data, industrial output was 0.3 percent higher than in January 2023.
According to the KSH, the data of the second estimate did not change compared to the February figures published in the first estimate.
The volume of industrial exports was 2.0 percent lower than a year earlier. The export of vehicle production, which represents 33 percent of manufacturing export sales, increased by 7.4 percent, and the production of electrical equipment, which accounted for 14 percent, increased by 42 percent.
