KSH: imports in exports increased even more in August
In August, exports in euros were 10.3 percent, imports 13.0 percent more than in the previous year. The trade surplus was 440 million euros, 119 million euros less than in August last year, according to the first estimate of the Central Statistical Office (KSH) published on Monday.
The annual growth rate of imports has exceeded the growth rate of exports since November, due to the rise in investment and consumption, so except for May, when an only 0.6 percentage points difference occured, the amount of trade surplus fell short of the same month of last year.
In July, exports showed a more modest 5.0 percent increase, while imports were 11.3 percent more than in the previous year. (MTI) –
