KSH: 38,000 less people worked than a year ago in August-October

In the three-month period of August-October, the average number of employees was 4,482,000, 38,000 or 0.8 percent less than a year before – the Central Statistical Office (KSH) annonced on Friday.
Of those aged 15-64, 4,402,000 were employed, the employment rate for this age group was 70.2 percent, just 0.1 percentage points lower than a year before and the same as in the same three-month period as in the third quarter.
The number of people working in the primary labor market was essentially the same as a year before. The decrease was caused by the 25 thousand decrease in the number of members of Hungarian households working abroad and the 17 thousand decrease in the number of public employees. (MTI)
