KSH: inflation was 5.1 percent in April
In April, consumer prices were on average 5.1 percent higher than a year before – the Central Statistical Office (KSH) reported on Tuesday.
Over the past year, the prices of spirits, tobacco products and fuels have risen significantly. Consumer prices rose by an average of 0.8 percent in one month.
According o KSH, Inflation was still 3.7 percent in March.
The last time inflation was 5 percent was in December 2012. Analysts expected 4.9 percent inflation for April.
