KSH: Agricultural prices barely rose in April
Agricultural producer prices were only 0.4 percent higher in April, compared to a year before as the result of the 4.2 percent price increase of plants and 6.2 percent price decline of animal products – the Central Statistical Office (KSH) announced on Monday. The rise in prices lasted for eigh month after the previous 26-month period of decline.
The prices of crop products was fueled by the 59.8 percent rise in potato prices.
The price of cereals increased by only 1.6 percent. The price of wheat dropped by 13 percent, while the price of maize, however, increased by the same amount.
Fruit prices fell by 3.0 percent due to the purchase price of apples, as they were sold in large quantities for industrial purposes. (MTI)
