KSH: the gross average salary was 708,300 forints, 9.8 percent higher than a year earlier
In April 2025, the average gross salary of full-time employees was 708,300 forints, and the average net salary was 486,500 forints. The average gross salary was 9.8 percent, the average net salary was 9.6 percent, and the real salary was 5.2 percent higher than a year earlier, the Central Statistical Office (KSH) reported on Tuesday.
The median gross salary was 564,800 forints, and the median net salary was 392,700 forints, both of which exceeded the same period of the previous year by 10.2 percent.
In April, the average regular gross salary (without bonuses, rewards, and monthly special allowances) can be estimated at 657,800 forints, which is 10.3 percent more than in the same period of the previous year. The regular gross average earnings in enterprises amounted to 654,600 forints, in the budget 656,000, and in the non-profit sector 692,900, increasing by 10.7, 8.4, and 11.8 percent respectively in one year.
Real earnings increased by 5.2 percent, while consumer prices increased by 4.2 percent compared to the same period of the previous year.
In January-April, the gross average earnings of full-time employees were 687,400 forints, and the net average earnings were 472,300 forints. The gross average earnings increased by 9.4 percent, while the net earnings increased by 9.2 percent compared to the same period of the previous year.
