KSH: prices increased by 9.5 percent on an annual basis

Near double-digit inflation
Annual core inflation rose to 10.3 percent from 9.1 percent in March.
Analysts expected inflation of 9.0 percent in April after 8.5 percent in March.
Food prices rose 15.6 percent, 2.6 percentage points higher than in March. Within this, the price of margarine was 38.0 percent higher than in April last year, up 4.4 percentage points from an annual rise in March after rising 4.3 percent in a month. (MTI)
