KSH: earnings grew by 9 percent in March
In March, the average gross earnings were 400,400 HUF, 9.0 percent more than a year before. In the first quarter, both gross and net average earnings increased by 9.1 percent year-on-year, to 384,200 HUF and 255, 500 HUF respectively. Real wages rose 4.6 percent, with consumer prices rising 4.3 percent in the first quarter, the Central Statistical Office (KSH) reported on Thursday.
The economic consequences of the coronavirus pandemic only partially affected the period under review, so its effect is only partially reflected in the data, they added.
The regular average gross salary (calculated without bonuses, bonuses, one-month special benefits) in March can be estimated at 366,100 HUF which is 7.7 percent higher than a year before. (MTI)
