KSH: 7.5 million tons of cereals grown this year
This year’s 5.284 million tons of wheat is 0.4 percent more than in 2014 and 19.1 percent higher than the average yield of the past five years.
The barley harvest was 12.0 percent than in last year and amounted to 1.428 million tons, after the average yield improved by 9.0 percent and reached 4.820 tons per hectare. The barley’s harvested area was 2.8 percent higher than in the previous year: 296 thousand hectares. (MTI)
