KSH: unemployment was 3.7 percent in the first quarter
In the period of January-March, the average number of unemployed was 173 thousand, the unemployment rate was 3.7 percent, 0.2 percentage points higher than a year before. h2>
In March, about 56,000 people lost their jobs, 54,000 of them became economically inactive and 2,000 became unemployed, the Central Statistical Office (KSH) reported on Tuesday.
The economic consequences of the coronavirus epidemic only partially affected the period under review, so its effects are less pronounced in the reported unemployment data – KSH wrote. (MTI)
