KSH: consumer prices increased by 3.1 percent in February
In February, consumer prices were on average 3.1 percent higher than a year before, while the market expected 2.9 percent – the Central Statistical Office (KSH) announced on Friday.
Within one month, consumer prices rose by an average of 0.6 percent in February. Food prices rose by 1.5 percent. One had to pay 6.0 percent more for seasonal food, 3.1 percent more for dry pasta and 2.2 percent more for sugar. Alcoholic beverages and tobacco prices increased by 0.5 percent, while beer prices by 1.4 percent. (MTI)
