KSH: consumer prices rose by 3.1 percent in February
In February, consumer prices were 3.1 percent higher than a year earlier and up 0.7 percent from the previous month – the Central Statistical Office (KSH) reported on Tuesday.
Annual inflation was 2.7 percent in the previous three months, up 3.0 percent from October last year and 3.4 percent in September. Core inflation in February was 4.1 percent, 0.1 percentage point lower than in January.
In February, food prices rose more than average by 3.4 percent, tobacco prices by 16.5 percent, and fuel prices rose by 4.6 percent year-on-year. (MTI)
