KSH: Consumer prices rose by 2.6 percent in August
Consumer prices were on average 2.6 percent higher in August than a year before. Compared with July, consumer prices grew by an average of 0.1 percent, according to the Central Statistical Office (KSH).
The seasonally adjusted annual core inflation rose to 2.8 percent in August from the 2.6 percent of July.
In the first eight months, consumer prices increased by 2.4 percent, compared to the same period of last year.
Mináry Borbála, head of department at KSH, said that the biggest 8.9 percent increase occured in the case of tobacco products mainly due to the change in excise tax. They also measured a significant 5.8 percent rise in vehicle fuel prices, he added. (MTI)
