KSH: agricultural producer prices rose by 13 percent
Agricultural producer prices prices rose by 13.0 percent in the first quarter year-on-year. Within this, plant products became 25.0 percent more expensive, but live animals and animal products became 7.9 percent cheaper, the Central Statistical Office (KSH) reported on Friday.
Vibrant international demand has pushed up the price of cereals and oilseeds. Cereal prices rose dynamically, by 32.0 percent, with both corn and wheat prices peaking. The rise in prices is due to the strong international demand for fodder crops, and there has been a significant increase in prices all over the world, the KSH added. (MTI)
