Are made-up sales days in the off-season the new craze?
Amazon appointed 15 July a special sales day and named it Prime Day. The e-commerce company offered special deals and huge bargains on this day, when consumers also had the chance to subscribe for AmazonPrime services with a discount. Shoppers had mixed feelings about the big day, while the trade is wondering whether made-up sales days like this will be the sales generators of the future. The website TotalRetail thinks yes and analysts say a similar day might be organised in January too.
