Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) is an increasingly popular sustainability concept.

The model is basically that consumers pay for produce upfront, giving farmers a stable market and income, while customers have access to fresh, local produce. The environmental impact of production also decreases, as local sourcing shortens the supply chain. The relationship between farmers and buyers becomes closer, in many cases building a community around the CSA model. //
