Local organizations can take part in Tesco’s program from nearly half a billion forints
Nearly HUF 450 million in support to 1,742 local organizations in 323 Hungarian settlements – this is the balance of Tesco’s “You choose, we help” tender program so far.
The company started the initiative in 2016 to support the communities living in the vicinity of its stores, the 13th round of which is now starting. Once again, the department store chain is supporting the projects nationwide with a total of 42 million forints, and the most creative and innovative applications are rewarded with a special award. This increases the total support value of the program to nearly 500 million forints, from which another 180 organizations can benefit in the current round. Applications can be submitted until April 28 via the website www.tesco.hu/kozosseg.
During 12 rounds, Tesco customers voted with more than 27.6 million tokens to support communities living near their place of residence in Tesco’s “You choose, we help” program. Their total weight would weigh just as much on the scales as an adult gray whale. With their votes, those participating in the decision contributed to the implementation of 1,742 tender projects in 323 Hungarian settlements, for which the department store chain provided nearly HUF 450 million in resources.
