Egg prices up nearly one-third
According to data from AKI PÁIR, the price of table eggs (M+L) from cage farming in Hungary was HUF 63.91/egg in the first ten months of 2025, which was 31.7% higher than the average price for the same period in 2024.

The price of M-sized boxed eggs at the packing station grew by 30 to HUF 66.36/egg, while the price of L-sized boxed eggs augmented by 26.3% to HUF 76.50/egg. The price of table eggs (M+L) from deep-litter farming at the packing station was HUF 73.04/egg in the first ten months of 2025, which was 27.7% higher than the average price for the same period in 2024.
According to data from the Central Statistical Office (KSH), Hungary purchased 14.9 thousand tonnes of shell eggs from the international market in the first nine months of 2025 (-12% compared to the same period of the previous year), including 15% less, 11.9 thousand tonnes of fresh eggs. Exports of shell eggs were down 3% at 7,800 tonnes, from which exports of fresh eggs accounted for 1,900 tonnes (+92%) between January and September 2025.
