Almost six billion HUF spent on champagne during the holidays
According to Nielsen market research company; Around half of the annual retail turnover of champagne occures around the Christmas and the New Year period.
Around Christmas and New Year, the average prices are significantly reduced. In last October and November a liter of champagne cost 966 HUF. In the December-January period, prices decreased by 9 percent; and Nielsen registered a 882 HUF per liters price.
Hypermarkets contributed significantly to the price decrease. The largest stores, sold champagne in last December-January an average 12 percent cheaper than before.
