Nearly 30,000 boxes of puzzles reached the needy with Auchan’s Christmas charity campaign
Auchan’s charity campaign ended at the end of December, as a result of which nearly 30,000 puzzle boxes were distributed to needy families, children, adults and the elderly. We were able to help in the charity campaign at the end of the year by buying every Trefl puzzle, as the company donated one more to SOS Children’s Villages, the Hungarian Reformed Charity Service, the Together with Diabetics Foundation and the Hungarian Red Cross after the sold toys.
Auchan’s Christmas campaign started in November last year, in the framework of which the supermarket chain offered another box for every Trefl Puzzle purchased, in order to deliver them to those living in need with the help of SOS Children’s Villages, the Hungarian Reformed Charity, the Together for Diagnosed Children Foundation and the Hungarian Red Cross . During the campaign, which lasted until December 24, nearly 30,000 puzzle pieces were donated, which were passed on to four charitable organizations, depending on how much they needed. SOS Children’s Villages distributed 328 pieces of the game to children living in foster care, and the Together with Cancer Children Foundation distributed 5,036 puzzles to children and young people spending the holidays in hospital. The Hungarian Reformed Charity Service gave 10,044 pieces to single elderly people, people living in nursing homes and families in need, and the Hungarian Red Cross distributed 14,609 packages of puzzles among children and families living in social institutions. In previous years, the fundraising campaigns ended with similarly successful results, and this proves that many of the customers are always happy to help and take advantage of the opportunity to donate.
