Because of Easter, retail sales can be up to 30-40 percent higher
Although the increase in food prices makes customers think twice about what to put in their baskets, seasonal products are expected to sell well this year as well.
In the period before Easter, traffic can be up to 30-40 percent higher than on other days, and department store chains already started preparing for the holiday in early spring, according to the Index’s retail map.
“Easter this year arrives in the first third of April, so this year we started preparing for the holiday in early spring, offering a wide range of food and non-food products related to the holiday. The traffic can be up to 30-40 percent higher than on other days, and the Thursday before Good Friday is also expected to be the most prominent day”
Márk Maczelka, SPAR Hungary’s head of communications, told Index. He noted: the workforce is organized accordingly, and the replenishment of goods is also continuously ensured, so that the service is as smooth as possible.
