Ministry of Agriculture eases conditions for Agro-ecological Programme
The Ministry of Agriculture is simplifying the rules of the Agro-ecological Programme (AÖP), which supports sustainable farming: minor errors won’t result in sanctions and the payment rate for partially completed subsidies will increase, announced József Viski, state secretary for agricultural and rural development at the ministry. The Hungarian government’s goal is to give farmers a more flexible and fairer support system. AÖP is one of the most popular forms of green subsidies, with 73,000 producers joining this year.

The changes will already apply to applications submitted in 2025, to ensure that subsidies reach farmers more quickly and predictably
