The warm winter can cause serious damages to the wineries. For example wineries near the Lake Balaton did not make ice wine for many years – Varga Bálint, leader of the Varga Winery spoke at Thursday's press conference in Badacsonyörs.

He added, that within eight to ten days, it will clear that how the grapes will be, but the warm winter can cause an up to 25 to 30 percent loss of production.

In the last twenty years, there was no example for such hot for weeks during the winter – Varga Bálint added.

The Varga Winery that is producing grapes on more than 250 hectares has an annual sales of four billion HUF. (MTI)
