Climate change: a concern that is losing importance in the EU
According to the Eurobarometer 2025 survey, while 85% of EU citizens think climate change is a serious problem, only 9% rank it among the most pressing challenges.

Standard Eurobarometer data reveal that Europeans worry much more about economic difficulties, inflation, housing, migration and geopolitical crises. A spring survey of young people conducted by the MCC Youth Research Institute has found: although 70% of 15-39 year-olds consider climate change to be important, 63% wouldn’t accept it if the fight against climate change meant higher living costs, and only 32% percent would be willing to make financial sacrifices for it.
