High quality potatoes? The countdown has begun!
All fries are potatoes, but not all potatoes are great. We have good news, you can apply for the KMÉ trademark in this product range as well. It can be regularly round or oval, small or large. This does not matter. It is, however, the conditions under which it was produced.
Potatoes, cabbage, buckwheat, potatoes. Everyone is probably familiar with choosing the best potatoes for our basket at the store. Soon we will only have to deal with the recipes, because KMÉ will save us the selection. After all, the opportunity has opened up for potatoes to join the national quality system.
Brand-worthy potatoes are wanted!
You can apply for the KMÉ trademark with potatoes grown from the Solanum tuberosum L. species, which are accepted in Hungary or on the world market, and which give good product quality and are not intended for industrial use. It is important that the production and distribution conditions of the plant comply in all respects with the applicable legal regulations.
Potatoes must meet these requirements
A special requirement for potatoes is that the solanine content is no more than 100mg/kg, and the reducing sugar content is no more than 2%. It is also a mandatory requirement that growers grow vegetables using integrated cultivation technology and biological plant protection.
