The winners of the “Az Év Szalonukra 2022” award have been selected
This year, the Szaloncukor of the Year competition was organized again as a civic initiative. All small and large domestic manufacturers were invited to the competition. The manufacturers were free to decide whether to participate in the free competition, or how many types of candy they would enter in the competition.
Taking market changes and consumer needs into account, the categories were determined again this year. In addition to the Salon Sugar of the Year, artisans also competed separately and could continue to compete separately for the salon sugar of the lower price (below HUF 699/100g) category. This year, in the spirit of sustainability, the category of vegan candy was highlighted. Encouraged by the success of last year’s “competition of flavors”, the best of the most popular flavors were sought out again this year, but in the “competition of flavors” expanded with new flavors, only one winner per flavor was announced this year.
During the judging, in addition to the invited jury members, many of the Facebook and Instagram followers of Év Szaloncukra were also given the opportunity to taste it, and members and managers of the YouTube channel I love chocolate and the MAVEG Hungarian Vegan Association and the Kispesti Association of Large Families also helped the team.
