Magazine: Little Britain
Opinions diverge on British gastronomy, but an increasing number of Hungarians buy typically British products. Their needs are served by British Store in Budapest, which started as an on-line shop. Owner László Kozma told our magazine that expats from the UK only represent 20 percent of their customers. One third of their sales is realised via the Internet. At the moment they sell 800-1,000 products but they order products on demand too.
They sell a great variety of ciders, chocolate drinks, ginger ales, ales and more than sixty types of tea. The British Store also offers English sauces and dressings, chutneys, biscuits, chocolates, Yorkshire pudding and baked beans. Their most popular products are ciders, salt&vinegar crisps and Marmite.
