The awards of the National Wine Competition were handed over
Hungarian winemakers produce high-quality wines thanks to their outstanding expertise and commitment, as well as the favorable location and capabilities of the country – Nagy István, Minister of Agriculture said at the handover ceremony of the National Wine Competition in 2019 in Budapest.
According to the Ministry’s statement Nagy István explained that wine consumption is deeply rooted in Hungarian culture, and the vast majority of wines produced are consumed within the country. Half of adult Hungarian wine lovers consume wine at least once a month, one-fifth of them at least once a week.
