European companies feel their position disadvantageous in China
European companies want equal treatment and similar access to the Chinese market, just as the Chinese companies – presents the EU Chamber of Commerce in China in its annual year assessment publication.
The chamber lists the bureaucratic brakes, that – in the view of the European companies – restrain their members to compete with the local competitors. The list of disadvantages includes the mandatory certification requirements, which restrict market access, the strict environmental and safety laws, that are only strict for the European firms, and the preferential treatment of domestic intellectual property products – reports MTI.
