The round was led by the European Circular Bioeconomy Fund and Green Generation Fund, with participation from Select Alternative Investments, several private investors, and the Startup Family Office.
In 2024, Vegdog achieved revenues of around €10 million, marking a 66% increase compared to the previous year. The company expects to maintain strong momentum, forecasting annual growth rates of up to 80% in the coming years.
Founded in 2015 by Tessa Zaune-Figlar and Valerie Henssen, Vegdog offers a full range of vegan and gluten-free dog food. The founders emphasize animal welfare, stating, “No animal needs to die today for our dogs to get the best food.” The company donates approximately 1% of its revenue to animal protection efforts.
Vegdog plans to double its team size by 2025 and accelerate expansion across German-speaking countries and the Netherlands, with further European markets to follow in 2026.
