This year’s winners of the Parliament’s Wine title have been announced

93 wineries sent a total of 218 wines from 19 wine regions of Hungary to the Parliament’s Wine competition, of which the professional jury selected this year’s winners in nine announced categories.

According to the national tradition, the very first act of Hungarian history in the Carpathian Basin, the blood contract, is also connected to wine – the Speaker of the National Assembly reminded in his greeting before the award ceremony.

Kövér László emphasized that the relationship between Hungarians and wine goes far beyond the cultivation of an agricultural culture. “Wine, viticulture has always been with us throughout the bright and bloodthirsty centuries of our history, as it has been for the past two years,” he said. (MTI)
