A priority goal is the success and support of the domestic wine industry
The Hungarian wine industry is still one of the most important pillars of the domestic agriculture, which the government helps with targeted subsidies to strengthen its competitiveness and international recognition – said Minister of Agriculture István Nagy on Saturday in Somlójenő, at the Somló Juhfark Festival.
Regarding the Juhfark Festival in Somló, the head of the ministry emphasized that such events not only contribute to the popularization of wine, but also strengthen the intertwining of tourism, gastronomy and culture.
István Nagy reminded that the goal is for the Hungarian wine industry to continuously renew itself with technological developments and innovative solutions, and thus be able to adapt to changes in consumer habits. That is why, in order to support the development of Hungarian wineries, the Ministry of Agriculture is providing more than 100 million euros in the current support period, which will be used for winemaking investments, technological developments and innovation. He added that, in addition to all this, the government also pays special attention to the international and domestic promotion of Hungarian wine. To this end, 6 million euros are available for promotional activities and to support the appearance of wine regions on the domestic and foreign markets, explained the minister.
