Grüne Woche 20-29 January 2012, Berlin: This fair is the biggest event in the world of agriculture, focusing on the domains of food and gardening as well. Fresh vegetables, fish, meat, dried products, wine and beer are in the centre of attention, together with the latest organic products. In 2011 more than 1,600 exhibitors participated – representing 57 countries – and attracted 415,000 visitors.

• ISM 29 January-1 February 2012, Cologne: ISM (International Sweet and Biscuits Fair) is the world’s biggest and most important sweets and biscuit fair, where market players can discuss trends and discover novelties. Small, medium-sized and market leading service providers have the chance to familiarise themselves with innovative ideas, solutions and concepts, with which they will be able to attract the consumers of tomorrow. • FOODAPEST 5-8 February 2012, Budapest: Foodapest is the leading food exhibition of Central Europe and the Balkans region, which has been organised by HUNGEXPO for 20 years. In 2012 not only traditional food products will be in the limelight but also Hungaricum products, organic and functional foods, innovative products and non-food items. This will be the second time that Foodapest is accompanied with UKBA – the International Trade Fair for Confectionery, Bakery and Gastronomy. • Fruit Logistica 8-10 February 2012, Berlin: The biggest international fair for fresh fruit and vegetable products, where visitors also have a chance to get to know technological solutions, which help them in keeping fruits and vegetables fresh. Storage and transportation methods are also introduced, together with the necessary software. This time Turkey will be the event’s partner country. • BioFach 15-18 February 2012, Nürnberg: BioFach International Organic Food and Product Trade Fair has been organised since 1990 and presents the whole spectrum of organic products, from food through cosmetics and textiles to cleaning products and furniture. Just like in earlier years, the Agricultural Marketing Centre offers Hungarian organic farmers the chance to use Hungary’s national stand at BioFach. • SALIMA 28 February-2 March 2012, Brno: Brno-seated trade fair organiser BVV is the host of international food industry fair SALIMA, bringing the representatives of the production and technology sides together. The event features four fairs in one as MBK (bakery, milling and sweets industry), INTECO (hotel owners, HoReCa) and VINEX (winemaking) also take place. In 2010 there were 307 exhibitors and 29,867 visitors. • ANUGA FoodTech 27-30 March 2012, Cologne: In the spring ANUGA FoodTec brings the latest production technologies, packaging and automatisation solutions, food safety and quality assurance systems, environmental planning, biotechnology and related IT systems and services. So far 600 companies have registered as exhibitors – 100 of them are new participants. • ALIMENTARIA 26-29 March 2012, Barcelona: Alimentaria is one of the most important food and beverage trade fairs in the world. In 2010 there were more than 140,000 visitors interested in what 3,936 exhibitors had to show. Alimentaria is the best place for companies to present their products and appear on the international stage. Several prestigious conferences accompany the event that focuses on 14 major themes. • Ethnic Foods Europe 27-29 March 2012, Brussels: Ethnic Foods Europe will be held for the second time next year. This year several thousand visitors took part in the three-day event. Themes will include Arabic, Mexican, North African, Afro-Caribbean and Indian food and there is going to be a section about the World Food Programme. • POPAI Marketing and Retail Show 27-29 March 2012, Paris: At POPAI’s biannual Marketing and Retail Show the year’s best POP advertisement, digital media and shop furnishing solutions will be awarded. Participating in the event and in the competition makes it possible for companies to show their creativity, innovation activity and know-how to decision makers of the industry. Exhibitors can earn a name on the international stage in just three days! • CIE 29-31 March 2012, Jiangsu: From the numerous Asian trade fairs China International Import Expo (CIE) 2012 is to be highlighted as the number one Chinese expo. CIE 2012 provides the perfect opportunity to get to know the market and learn about new products and technologies. Especially technical equipment, information technology, ecological industry and consumer brands are in the centre of attention. • PLMA ‘World of Private Label’ 22-23 May 2012, Amsterdam: PLMA is held every year and introduces private label products and programmes to retailers and manufacturers. More than 3,600 stands are built in a food and in a non-food hall, where manufacturers from 70 countries present their products. Seminars and lectures are also organised. • InterCool, InterMeat, InterMopro 23-26 September 2012, Düsseldorf: The freshness and the place of origin of food products and the related services are increasingly important for consumers. InterCool, InterMeat and InterMopro primarily targets retail’s purchasers, not only from Germany but also from Austria and the Benelux states. In all three categories there will be a special area called the ‘Brand Village’ where brand manufacturers can present their products. • SIAL 21-25 October 2012 Paris: In 2010 the world’s number one food exhibition welcomed 5,838 exhibitors from 100 countries and attracted 136,000 visitors. In 2012 SIAL will be held in Canada, China and Brazil as well.
