K&H: variety is important not only in nature, but also in the workplace
May is European Diversity Month. This month, the European Commission also highlights the importance of workplace and social inclusion and encourages companies to support it. According to K&H, a diverse workplace also benefits the company, and the provision of an inclusive environment can be supported in various ways – be it through the attention of managers, the training of women or benefit packages.
Since 2020, May has been European Diversity Month, which is why the European Commission draws attention to the importance of diversity and inclusion in the workplace and in society with various events. This year’s motto is “Building Bridges”, i.e. how to build bridges between the organization and employees with different abilities, backgrounds and origins. According to K&H, supporting diversity is already an important part of the company’s strategy and the HR toolkit, and it also means benefits for the organization. The accepting work environment not only means equal opportunities for the employees, but the company also grows with employees with different perspectives, who bring different opinions and ideas with them, and thus can form a dynamic and creative team. Creating a tolerant work environment also serves as an example: if people experience the benefits of diversity in the workplace, it will become natural for the entire society to respect and accept each other regardless of age, gender, nationality, physical limitations, religion or sexual orientation.
