K&H: how much pocket money do young people receive?
On average, young people between the ages of 14 and 18 receive HUF 22,000 in pocket money per month from their parents, according to a survey of the financial situation of young people by K&H. According to the study, 94 percent of young people have some source of income, typically pocket money or scholarships. It is therefore worthwhile to introduce the children to the preparation of the family budget. K&H helps with this Take care, ready, money! also a knowledge material prepared for a competition.
A budget is a statement of income and expenditure for a given period. A family that prepares a budget can see where the money comes from and where it goes, so they can openly discuss their related questions and suggestions with each other, according to the K&H compilation, which also describes how much income young people receive.
According to K&H research conducted in October 2023, 94 percent of 14-18 year olds have some kind of income. Young people who have pocket money receive HUF 22,000 on average. In the case of the scholarship, the average amount is HUF 29,122. In relation to income, it is important to prepare not only one’s own financial plan, but also the family’s, namely so that the young person can turn to the parents in justified cases.
The first step in creating a budget is to list your income. In the first place are regular incomes, and then you have to take into account occasional and temporary incomes. The second step is to list the expenses. Reviewing previous bank transfers can help with this.
