K&H: albeit with a delay, Hungarian companies follow global AI use trends

According to K&H’s innovation index, Hungarian companies are lagging behind a little, but they are following global trends in AI adoption and acceptance. After the initial enthusiasm, the proportion of companies using AI has now dropped to 30% in Hungary, told Balázs Németh, K&H’s chief innovation officer, who added that the initial excitement died down owing to the fact that the solutions available in the market can’t necessarily be applied fully at every company, and they often require in-house developments and customised solutions.
“This is why it is also positive that the share of own developments in Hungary jumped from 4% to 17% in a single year”,
stressed K&H’s expert.
Typically it is retailers and service providers who spend the most on generative AI in Hungary. It is mainly large companies (with sales revenue above HUF 4bn) that are excelling, but medium-sized companies are also catching up. According to Balázs Németh, AI models are only a small part of a business solution: what is more important is the development and implementation of new business models. //
