Foundation for Artisan Confectionery
There have been great changes in the life of the Foundation for Artisan Confectionery this year. One of these is that Mária Lusztigh is taking over from Zsuzsa Andrásné Kemény as the foundation’s president.

Over the past 18 year the foundation has become synonymous with the name of Zsuzsa Andrásné Kemény. Under her leadership the organisation was very successful and she has taught many confectioner colleagues during her reign. Her successor Mária Lusztigh spoke about the new role and how she feels about it:
“Zsuzsa has done a fantastic job over the past 18 years, for which we are all grateful. She has taught hundreds of confectioners the skills of the trade by constantly educating herself. I would like to continue in the same vein, because the desire to know and to pass on knowledge is my philosophy too. The strongest feeling in me now is the sense of responsibility to make the foundation a success story, following our mission and achieving our goals as set out in our charter. In being a member of the Hungarian Confectioners’ Craft Union, I have met a wonderful, inspiring ‘family’ to whom I have been able to turn for advice, help or just a friendly chat over the years. I would like to expand the foundation’s training programme, inviting professionals who are excellent in their own fields to teach, as well as young pastry chefs who are advancing their careers with great humility and talent. The 2-day (16-hour) courses will be kept, but there is also demand for shorter, 1-day programmes, which we would like to incorporate. As part of the renewal, we are getting a new logo and would like to launch a new Facebook page”. //
