Preserving industry produces less

Two thirds of the preserving industry is dominated by Hamé, Univer and Bonduelle. Last year they held back production by 15-20 percent. The canning segment’s annual sales revenue is HUF 100 billion, while cooling companies are at an annual HUF 30-40 billion. 80-90 percent of both segments’ production is exported. The industry is fighting for survival: prices are going down and production costs are going up.
