Less meat might be consumed in German-speaking countries
One-third of consumers in the DACH region plan to reduce their meat consumption, while seven out of ten choose plant-based alternatives at least occasionally, according to a recent report by YouGov examining the meat substitute market in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

37% plan to reduce their meat consumption in Switzerland, while 32% in Austria and 31% in Germany would refrain from eating animal-based products. In Austria 44% of respondents expect alternatives to resemble traditional meat as closely as possible, while in Germany this figure is 32% and in Switzerland it is only 26%.
