Twice as many Magnum ice creams are made in Veszprém
The expansion of Unilever Magyarország Kft.’s ice cream factory in Veszprém has reached an important chapter. Thanks to the investment of more than HUF 10 billion, a 3,400-square-meter production hall was built, in which a new production line producing Magnum stick ice creams was located.
The production line was launched by Tibor Navracsics, minister without portfolio responsible for regional development and the use of EU funds, at the factory hall opening ceremony. In one of the most modern, strategically important European production centers of the British-Dutch parent company – where well-known ice cream brands such as Magnum, Cornetto or Carte d’Or are made – thanks to the investment, the annual production capacity of 80 million liters has been increased to 15 million is expanded by liters. The opening of the factory hall was also part of a birthday celebration, since the Veszprém unit was Unilever’s first factory in Hungary, which started operating almost 30 years ago, with a capacity of only 5 million liters per year.
