Two hundred thousand people are involved in the Pick It Up! garbage disosal action
At the opening of the Pick It Up! – Volunteering for the Clean Hungary three-day waste collection action, Nagy István, minister of State of the Ministry of Agriculture greeted 250 schoolchildren and their accompanying teachers and adults on Friday in Tiszaszőlős.
He announced that within the current action, more than 200,000 participants are cleaning up the garbage at 1732 registered locations.
He reminded that only 30,000 people took part in the action six years ago, and now virtually every other second settlement in the country is involved in the action, which is primarily about serving cleaning up the garbage, but it also has a beneficial effect. (MTI)
